[UPDATE 12:20 p.m.] Blocksburg Fire: Update

The Blocksburg Fire began about 4:30 p.m. yesterday. It started about a mile north of the small southeastern Humboldt County town on a rural property east of the Alderpoint Road.

Today, according to reports on KMUD, the fire is 30 acres and 40% contained. The Alderpoint Rd is closed at Homestead Road.

UPDATE 12:20 p.m.: Laura Coleman spokesperson for Cal Fire reports, The “final acreage is 35 acres; 100% contained with heavy mop-up and multiple resources at scene for the next few days; negative injuries; negative structure loss; negative evacuations; negative road closures. [Note: Humboldt OES said there was a closure.] Cause under investigation.”
