I cannot understand why the ethnicity of the driver is relevant in any way. Perhaps someone feels the need to reinforce a stereotype?

I’m with Veterans Friend, why is that relevant? Why go through all ethnicities to spotlight one, what’s the point?

Any type of detail about the person is relevant so that there isn’t a larger panic if it may be a loved one and so the sheriffs office and chp gets less calls regarding identification. If it had said Caucasian male, would you have still felt the need to make that comment?

Right?? Don’t remember the story of the guy from couple days ago being listed as Caucasian, but maybe.

Its a lot of out of towners who are following gps which says thats the best route.
Navigations fine and all, tho its smart to still carry and use paper maps.

Yes, current paper maps are a back-up necessity. Your GPS can die or coverage end or be out of date.

PLEASE: slow down, drive sober, drive politely, don’t intentionally endanger other people, and TRY your best to arrive alive!

Remember this prayer when you see other people driving crazily:

“May the powers and forces help you to reach your destination without harming other creatures and persons, or hurting yourself!”

Don’t tempt chance! Take care, be patient, stay alive!

Humboldt County is a dangerous place to drive, as our roads are poor and limited, and our population expands in the summer!

Don’t get killed this year! Drive safely, patiently, politely, and drive sober! Pay attention!

Kym, as always I appreciate all the hard work you put into getting your stories. It seems no matter what you say, there will always be your critics. Keep doing what you do !

Ms.Kemp does a great job bringing news and publishing an anti marijuana blog.
Only pot growers take offense, because addicts hide from the truth.

Is this an anti marijuana blog? I thought it was neutral.

While Honey…’s comment about addicts hiding from the truth may in fact be true, they are not the only ones (hiding from the truth). Seems to be the favorite pastime for most people these days.

If you read the stories about marijuana, it’s obviously an anti marijuana blog. Stories about murder, arrests, human trafficking, 100,000 plant grows killing wild fish, etc.

What else could it be except anti marijuana?

Unless marijuana users embrace those things?

Do marijuana users cheer about crime, environmental destruction, murders, rip offs?

Maybe….

R.I.P. Mr. Tundra driver. My condolences to your loved ones.
Thank you Kym, for adding extra description so that those whose loved ones drive a Tundra will know right off the bat whether to get in touch with the department or whether to offer their condolences and stay off the phone.

USFS 1 goes from Berry Summit on 299 to SR 36 near Mad River. Was this tragic accident near 36 or what? Very vague.
