Press release from California Attorney General Xavier Becerra:

Attorney General Xavier Becerra today announced that he is joining members of the California Black, Latino, and Asian & Pacific Islander Legislative Caucuses in sponsoring legislation to promote safety, transparency, and improved public trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve. The legislation, AB 284, the Deadly Force Evaluation Act, would require the California Department of Justice (DOJ) to conduct a first-of-its kind statewide evaluation of officer-involved shootings. AB 284 was introduced by Assemblymembers Kevin McCarty (District 7-Sacramento), Rob Bonta (District 18-Oakland), Reggie Jones-Sawyer (District 59-South Los Angeles) and co-authored by Senator Ben Hueso (District 40-San Diego) and Assemblymember Chris Holden (District 41-Pasadena).

“Deadly force incidents leave a lasting imprint on our communities and the officers involved. We need to develop targeted, effective solutions that can prevent the likelihood of these incidents,” said Attorney General Becerra. “AB 284 will, for the first time, take a comprehensive look that ensures facts, not innuendo, guide state policy. As the State’s chief law enforcement officer, I want to ensure that appropriate policies, training and oversight and accountability mechanisms are in place to keep our communities and peace officers safe.”

Under AB 284, the DOJ would be required to evaluate officer-involved shooting incidents resulting in death or serious injury occurring between January 1, 2015 and December 31, 2016. Pursuant to the bill, DOJ would study the nature and circumstances of officer-involved shootings across the state, including examining the policies, procedures, and training in place at the employing agency of the officer. The bill also would require DOJ to prepare a written report describing its findings and recommendations.

Becerra is a leftwing, fascist nut job. This traitorous sleazebag is doing everything in his power to hinder real American’s rights, law enforcement or true liberty.

Like Dictator Brown, Pelosi, Feinstein, Kamala “wing nut” Harris and the rest of the Soros-sponsored evil in this state their only aim is to enslave patriots and true citizens to a UN-style, NWO police state.

We have to fight these demons with every breath in our bodies.

For the right wing nut, “fake news” turns out to be news these peabrains disagree with. You know sometimes Satan comes as a man of peace.

I am 100% in favor of this. Too many people killed by police (over 1000 in the past year) do not get justice from our current system.
Remember Philando Castile & Tommy McCain

Yes, let’s take the time and effort to do this, instead of taking a greater effort to figger out how to keep the criminal-types in check [edit]

Why the race card? All colors and creeds are killed by law enforcement, it’s a nation wide citizen vs police issue! We are all Americans.

There are no cards in this game.
I am a firm believer there is only one race, the human race, to which you may or may not belong.

Race does come into this as the justice system disproportionately targets people of color.

Remember when the Eureka Police Department murdered that mentally ill woman down on 2nd Street in her apartment quite a few years back I think that definitely qualifies epd to be looked at by a higher authority to see if they need to be put in check which they obviously do

Every time I think Calif state government couldn’t get any worse than it is today I read another article like this.

It will appeal to all the cop haters out there.

This would have merit if the people investigating were regular people pulled at random.

If the occupation investigates itself there is no checks and balances.

I do think no marijuana addicts should be chosen or anyone with a degree in Advanced Basket Weaving, no scraggly beards, no dreadlocks, and definitely no Toyota drivers with dogs that wear bandannas.

Other than those stipulations, sounds good to me.

Only 14% of people who use MJ are addicts mentally addicted that is. So you are speaking of a very small group of weak minded people who really do not matter anymore then old people opinions.

Are they confessing that citizens have not been equally protected by law? If citizens have not requested equal protection of law, then they have zero equal protection? I’m not a scholar, obviously, but imo, that sounds very incriminating.

Another concerning part, is this bill sounds like it wants to make the DOJ the jury of certain peers, over riding, or perhaps even dismissing altogether, any GRAND JURY of all peers.

But this is Calif, where the constitution hasn’t been upheld in forever. Governor makes unconstitutional treaties with foreign countries, mayors make unconstitutional allegiances with mayors, senators make allegiances, legislators make allegiances, certain groups make allegiances, towns make resolutions, unconstitutional agencies make rules, … it’s a free for all, for all except the individual who values the constitution.

Here’s one for the legislators. You are supposed to be in congress requesting the permission from every state that is united under the constitution, to do what you do, not on news media dictating what you do. Dictating. Now there’s a wake up tip.
