Probably had to swerve to miss chump picking up cans.
What?Um the chump as you so eloquently put it is helping clean up after pos litterbugs who toss garbage out their windows….theyre the chumps…
Well Charles I think that one just went way over your head.
There is a fella, not a chump, who picks up trash on Briceland Rd… I have talked to him about improving his survival chances by wearing brighter clothing and not cleaning up the inside of blind curves.. He has agreed and wanted me to tell the community NOT to swerve out of the way, please, he is away of cars even if he doesn’t give eye contact. He pleaded with me to ask people to stay in their lanes as so many are challenged enough to do that already. Though it is considerate for people to give him more space… too dangerous… he was worried that people were mistaking the ‘steely-eyed glint of a focused litter elf’* for the demented look of an addled senior about to stumble out into the road. 🙂 …. *I don’t know why he calls himself a litter elf… looks more like a gnome to me!
Snort! I like those litter gnomes…
In the early ’70s I took out a power pole by the store, with Grandpa’s Studebaker pickup, Hell was raised.
The rate those hillsides move I wouldn’t be surprised if it was tree hits van!
It was on Wilder Ridge Rd just passed the Honeydew creek campground not Mattole Rd. It was a green SUV that didn’t make the corner (which wasn’t that bad of a turn). I would estimate they were going about 50 mph or more. The vehicle was mangled in the front & airbag deployed. A CHP officer was on scene waiting on a flatbed to remove it. The driver was already in route to the hospital when I drove by the accident at 8:00 am.
Thanks for the additional information.
