Probation Sweep Snags a Number of Violators, Say Fortuna Police

This is a press release from the Fortuna Police Department. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

On June 15, 2017, Officers with the Fortuna Police Department teamed with Officers from the Humboldt County Probation Department and conducted compliance checks on 47 Felony Probationers and Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) subjects in the City of Fortuna.

“We organized this operation to ensure these probationers and PRCS subjects were in compliance with their court orders and to hold them accountable”, said Chief William Dobberstein.

As a result of this operation, a total of eight subjects were arrested.

The following subjects were arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility:

MEHRTENS, BRETT BOTHELIA

Brett Bothelia Mehrtens (age 23)

  • Violation of Probation

    jimmy Lewis Johnson

    Jimmy Lewis Johnson (age 43)

      • Possession of a Controlled Substance
      • Violation of Probation
      • Felony Warrant

        Lance Ostlund

        Lance Eric Ostlund (age 28)

      • Felony Warrant
      • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
      • Violation of Probation


    Jesse Rawlin Lussow

    Jesse Rawlin Lussow (age 40)

    • Felony Warrant

    In addition, the following subjects were arrested and released with a promise to appearphoto not availableBrandie Lee McGraw (age 29)

     

      •  Possession of a Controlled Substance
      • Child Endangerment

     

    John Thomas BurbridgeJohn Thomas Burbridge (age 25)

      • Possession of a Controlled Substance
      • Probation Violation.

    Nicole Jean StockhoffNicole Jean Stockhoff (age 33)

      • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
      • Probation Violation

    Justin Kyle ChristensenJustin Kyle Christensen (age 31)

    • Felon in Possession of Ammunition
    • Probation Violation

    Several other probationers were not home during the operation however, officers located evidence of fresh crimes and violations of their probation and will be seeking arrest warrants.

    Additionally, during the operation, officers discovered several of the probationers and PRCS subjects did not live at the addresses they reported to the probation department.  These technical violations of their Court order will be handled by the Probation Department.

It appears all of these people have no desire to change and continue to break the law. Great job FOPD !! This needs to be done throughout the county on a regular basis.
