[UPDATE 7:24 p.m.] One Person Rescued From a Structure Fire in Hydesville

A confirmed structure fire in Hydesville burns as of about 6:05 p.m. The fire is in the 3300 block of A Street.

“Caller stating fully involved structure,” the dispatcher reports.

Fortuna Fire and other departments are responding.

UPDATE 6:11 p.m.: One person was rescued from the fire, according to scanner traffic. An ambulance is responding as the patient has difficulty breathing.

“We’ve got heavy smoke showing,” reports a firefighter arriving at the fire. “We are almost on the scene.”

UPDATE 6:17 p.m.: “A Street will be blocked on the north side,” reports the Incident Commander.

UPDATE 6:23 p.m.: Photo of the smoke rising from the burning structure sent to us by Carrie Simpson.

The fire is located directly across the field behind our house and is huge. one small explosion and heavy acrid bblacl smoke coming from the house which is fully involved. Thank you Firefighters for attacking this fire! <3

We live right down the road. Fire trucks are still at the scene even now! I’m fairly certain the whole thing burned to the ground. How scary and terrible! Sending love and prayers to the poor people that lost their home today.
