Kirk Davis, Old Town Jeweler: ‘Lost in a Tragic Accident’
This section includes both obituaries and memories. Honoring our loved ones who have died does not end immediately after their passing. We recognize that… so we’re extending our obituary section to include individuals who may have left a long time ago. If you want to remember someone who is gone, either recently or longer ago, please send a photo and a few sentences to [email protected]. Tell us why you would like to honor the person–is it their birthday, the date of their passing or some other date of significance to you? Pet remembrances are also welcome.
Sadly, Kirk has been lost in a tragic accident. He will be sorely missed by his family, friends, Masonic Lodge brothers and customers. Kirk is survived by his daughter, Sara, his son, Kyle, and grandchildren, Jazmin, Aiyanna and AJ.
Kirk, a talented goldsmith, was one of the proprietors of Old Town Jewelers in Eureka. Kirk was a member of Humboldt Masonic Lodge #79 and a member of the Redwood Shriner’s Club.
Please join us on Sunday, May 21st at 2pm at the Masonic Lodge at 517 G St. in Eureka to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to The Shriner’s Hospital or charity of your choice.

Motorcycle accident
Wow. There’s a time and a place for humor. This isn’t one of those times. Please show some compassion for his friends and loved ones.
Not funny!
Our condolences to Kirks loved ones. We did a lot of business with Kirk and always found him pleasant, talented and friendly. Our hearts were heavy when we heard the news of his motorcycle accident. May he rest in peace. Mike & Norma (prior owners of The Stonery).
Yes he was my go-to guy with jewelry questions/problems, etc. Such sad news!!
Thanks Melodee..some people are just ignorant.shriner hospitals are for children fool ..have a little tact…
Kirk was one of those rare individuals you come across in life. A true professional artist and just and all around Great Guy. See ya on the other side Kirk.
I am so sorry for your loss. He just recently Repaired a ring for my daughter and advised me to go elsewhere for business on another job that cost me less when he could have done the job for exhorbitantly more money. He didn’t have to do that. RIP
He was very kind when I went into his shop to ask a question. I’m very sorry he’s gone.
Kirk was truly one of the nicest guys ever. He worked all of my jewelry when I lived in Eureka and especially on a ring that had been mangled in my garbage disposal and he restored it to perfection. I don’t believe I ever saw him without a smile on his face…. he was always happy, calm, at peace. R. I. P. Kirk, you are already missed.
Got to know Kirk when I worked at Redwood Capital Bank and we became friends he was caring, patient, and always had a smile …. You will truly be missed Kirk …my thoughts and prayers are with your family ❤️🙏🏻
Really bummed.to hear of this. Kirk is a great guy. Always mellow with a good story.. my heart goes out to his kids and grandkids, Steve and the rest of his family… he’s always super cool to my little man when we stop by.. I always leave the shop glad I dropped in. I’m honored to call you a friend Kirk… I hope that your final ride in the sky is amazing. Watch over us fools brother. see you on the other side
Like everyone else, I am so very sorry to hear this. He was a kind and creative man, and did a lot of work for me at Eagle’s Perch, and then personally. Today, I’m wearing a beautiful necklace and earring set he made for me and thinking of him. Condolences to his family, friends and store partner, Steve.
I remember him when he was working at the pawn shop, he was polite and professional, RIP Kirk.
The first time I met him was when I worked at I believe Arbys at the mall. He was always very nice. Saw him a few times at the jewelry store.
Oh! I loved Kirk! He made my first custom belly button ring 20 years ago, and I had to send it back to him to fix because only he could do it right. My sympathies to his family and loved one.
Sad news. I first met Kirk when he was the on site jeweler at Allure Jewelers in Old Town. Nice guy, funny and always seemed to be in a good mood. Would run into him every now and then at the Speak Easy. He will be missed, condolences to his family and friends

R.I.P. Kirk
Kirk was a regular of mine during my 10 years working at Roys Club. It’s been over 7 years since. I was thrilled to bring my ring into his shop recently. He was a very sweet guy. My prayers are with his family.
I once stopped by his Shop to ask a question about a tricky clasp on my watch. He spent a solid twenty five minutes pondering a fix. He ask If I could leave it for a day. Came back the next day.,,.,., fixed! He ask me about my watch and told him the story how my mother had bought it for me for a retirement gift and that it meant a lot to me. He smiled and said the work was on the house!
So nice to read so many sweet comments about Kirk, I loved going to see Kirk, I loved to make him laugh and smile. He was definitely a light in old Town. I considered him not only my jeweler but my friend. The world lost a sweet, kind man. Kirk, we will miss you.
