No way!! I was just saying I wonder if it was the same phsycho that already did this. Didn’t they stop coming to the cove for calls about him a while back because S always hides his stupid ass. He should have already been in jail a long time ago.

That’s what happens when kids are started early growing, selling, using dope. Often passed on through generations Leads to low-class human being.

I haven’t read anything that supports your analogy of this situation. Do you know the accused and his family? I am curious why you have taken this stance. I know of lots of families who have not raised children who purposely hurt people.

That makes me feel nice that he had people around him who cared. But Jesse allowed others to like him and everyone had more than the benefit of the doubt, where most people are closed.

Jesse was the best for practical jokes. He was always bringing smiles and laughter to the Cove community. An occasional wtf, but he would never hurt a fly. Huge heart. The Cove wont be the same without him. Condolences to his sister Crystal, and his family here, and his community who are all heartbroken.

What I do not understand is the piece of crap that did this was arrested in 2013 for almost the exact same thing thank goodness it didn’t result in deaths. What I’m trying to say here is what is wrong with our justice system where shit heads like Eric Lively can get out of jail in the blink of an eye to infict chaos on our community WTF Humboldt county D.A. Do your god damn job

Yeah cuz the DA office is functioning so well….NOT. I encourage everyone to read about the supes hiring for the DA office. That guy hasnt been in a courtroom for many years. The employees of the DA office wrote a letter to the supes saying how bad it is since his hire, which makes you have to question Flemings support of this. A woman who works there was cornered by this guy and verbally abused, she was scared but brave enuf to report him.
At least Gallegos built good cases and didnt have employees wanting to all quit because of a bad apple no one will fire. Im surprised you think this new DA will make a difference, past crimes are always taken into account in these cases, gallegos did the same, like any other prosecutor.

2 of our judges were investigated by the state and found guilty of various crimes but still hear cases in Humboldt.

Lets stop blaming left or right, and find the common ground that we all want to feel safe in our neighborhoods here. We need to stand together to demand that our judicial system have competent employees and that people who deserve prosecution actually have a case brought against them.
I have read about some amazing investigative folks in the DA office who have been crucial in child abuse cases and the like. The really heavy stuff. Losing them would be a blow to our community. That fleming would rather lose her entire staff instead of firing one guy says a lot about whos pocket she’s in.

That’s the Public Defender’s office that’s having those problems, not the DA’s office. The DA is elected, not hired. If you are hoping for conviction an incompetent Public Defender is just what you want, assuming he can’t afford a lawyer.

Our courts are encouraged to book & release, give moderate sentences because our jails are full; and some think all criminals can be rehabilitated. Nobody wants to build larger or new jails, so these repeat criminals are released constantly. This is our “poor criminal”, ‘rehabilitation” process at work. The props that have been passed in Calif. don’t help either. Calif probably has the most repeat criminals running the streets in the US; and the most lenient courts. It leaves the public at risk !!

You have to understand the Sheriff and DA have their hands tied by all these laws the libs keep passing in State Congress and at the ballot box.

their hands aren’t tied by liberal law making, they’re tied by living in a small population community where one hand is washing the other.

Their hands are tied by the indoctrinated by Govt people.
Non-indoctrinated people KNOW:
1. The Constitution is a contract created by the people/states, to LIMIT GOVTS, and to secure the RIGHTS of the people, so the people may live freely. Govt’s cannot (shall not) ever, not ever, establish or deny a right. Only the individual can establish or deny their individual rights. Govts are given the authority to legislate, through ballot, the consequences for those who give up their Rights by hurting another’s Rights to Life, Liberty or Private Property.
A. Legislators who legislate otherwise, are being repugnant to the Constitution. All laws not in keeping with the Constitution are repugnant to the Constitution and are to be considered null and void. The Legislators, judges, and all elected officials are to be held accountable to their oath to the Constitution. Those who do not obey or respect the Constitution are to step down from office, without favor. Govts do not have the authority or the right to be biased or to hold favor for any group over any other.
B. All Sheriff’s are elected to secure the Rights of the People by defending the people’s rights from all enemies foreign or domestic, whether politicians or neighbors. The sheriff does not answer to anybody but the people. The Sheriff’s first duty is to the Constitution, then to the State Constitution. Politicians be dammed if they dare criminalize innocent people. The Sheriff’s duty is secure the person’s rights. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QiBcC8_goVg

Summary: Legislators are to secure the rights of the people. Sheriff’s are to secure the rights of the people. All elected officials are to secure the rights of the people.

The duty of the Legislators. Who holds the purse strings. http://krisannehall.com/who-has-control-over-the-budget/

and yes, both sources are on the progressive’s kill list, aka SPLC.
There are other sources, that all say the same thing. They weren’t indoctrinated by Govt education that turns all powers and rights over to the Govt through propaganda feels.

shak — You sure “know” a whole lot of things about the purpose and workings of government that are simply not true/accurate, but projections of your rather painfully contorted view of things and spurious sources. What is happening in your personal cage of squirrels that you are so sure of obviously skewed statements that any fool (hint) can simply look up objectively and find to be incorrect? Your flawed bloviating is an insult both to the circumstances of a tragic murder and to the intelligence of the community.

At the start of each new Congress, in January of every odd-numbered year, the entire House of Representatives and one-third of the Senate performs a solemn and festive constitutional rite that is as old as the Republic. While the oath-taking dates back to the First Congress in 1789, the current oath is a product of the 1860s, drafted by Civil War-era members of Congress intent on ensnaring traitors.
“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.”

It’s not the DA guys. It’s liberals in your community voting on laws they don’t read. It’s the way of life down there. You have some liberal who read something half way and then tells everyone else what it reads and you all go for it. Who’s fault is it that you all don’t want police presence in that community? It’s the locals who vote them out. It’s crazy now there trying to let more criminals out, and the laws to decriminalize what they do, but I’ll be willing to bet you won’t even read the proposal. Maybe instead of sticking the pipe in your mouth you should read the freaking laws and know what your voting on. Look at the outcome of your secret behavior. People like Crystal now have to suffer cause you all don’t like the law. Don’t even freaking blame the police, you people need a serious reality check. Vacation is over it’s time to get a job you uneducated degenerates. Seriously, a community like that usually is full of retired people not 18- 40 year olds who have never worked a day in there life, but yet own more houses and land then most people that have worked there whole life. The women drive mercedes and land rovers, the guys drive big trucks and kids are rolling new Toyotas. If you call 911 your considered a rat?? But now you all are blaming the law. What bunch of fool’s you are. You want a secret life and run every law enforcement officer out of town, but yet you blame them when a terrible incident like this happens. You people need to take accountability for your actions. Oh wait, you have never had to so why would you start now. Seriously you really know how to pass the buck, it’s the same thing you all do when you get caught for your actions, starting telling on each other. You people are so disfunctional it’s crazy. No loyalty, no commitment, and not even the ability to do the right thing. It’s discustimg

I love them both and I just hope that the family can make it through this difficult time as best as possible. I love them all and I appreciate all the condolences. I just wish I was there to help them or just be there with the family. I will miss my brother so much and I can only hope that Tom and the family can find some peace through this.
