South Fork Baseball Splits with St. Bernard’s
“Our pitchers looked as good as they did last year,” said head coach Andy Olsen, referring to the dominant performances turned in by his #1 and #2 hurlers. “It was the errors that cost us.”
Coffelt pitched the opener taking the Cubs to a 4-3 victory. He gave up just 1 earned run, struck out 8 and walked three. The Crusaders were gifted two runs on Cub errors. South Fork scored 4 runs on 8 hits. Sophomore catcher Cody Wyatt was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI and a run scored. Sophomore second baseman Cooper Scott was 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored. Junior outfielder Aaron Etherton had two hits, an RBI and a run scored. Senior 1st baseman Ipo Savoie knocked in a run on one hit. The Cubs’ running game was a big factor in the win, they were 11 for 12 in stolen bases.
Sophomore southpaw CJ Van Meter took the ball for the night cap and gave up just 1 earned run while striking out four in the 3-1 loss. St. Bernard’s took advantage of 4 Cub errors to eke out and hold the lead. Against dominant Crusader pitching by junior Garrison Finck, South Fork managed just one run on two hits. This week the Cubs will travel to Laytonville for a double header staring at 2 p.m. and will host Ferndale at home on Saturday, starting at 11 a.m. The two seniors on the team, Ipo Savoie and Levi Humphrey will be playing their final home games on Saturday and will be honored. The Cubs are now 6-6 overall and 2-4 in league play.

Great job, keep up the hard work, results will last a lifetime.
What fantastic photos! The only thing better, would be to have seen them in real life, in action. This is what is worth writing home about, no doubt about it. Watching others do their best, no matter what. Go cubs!
Could someone post all the games? Thanks
You mean by different teams? Unfortunately, I don’t have the writers nor the money to cover all the different teams.
