South Fork Softball Drops Double Header to St. Bernard’s
However, the Lady Cubs found some rhythm in game two and scored 7 runs. Down 12-0 in the fourth inning, “we got our bats going and rallied,” said Van Meter who was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. Senior 1st baseman Gabi Moore was 2 for 4 with a double, sophomore Kylee Savio was 2 for 2 with a double and 2 walks and junior Kylie Girard was 1 for 3 with a double.
Sophomore Jasmine Todd made her high school pitching debut in game 2 and did well, according to her battery-mate Van Meter.
“We are our own worst enemy at times,” said Coach Todd, referring to the errors. “We still have a lot of little things to work on and we are getting there now that we can practice outside.”
The Lady Cubs will host two double headers this week. On Friday Laytonville comes to town with the opening game starting at 2 p.m. On Saturday South Fork will host Ferndale, with the opener starting at 11 a.m. The team’s three seniors, Van Meter, Morre, and Sabrina Miclette will be honored during their last home appearance of their careers on Saturday.

Watched game #2…had a great time rooting for granddaughter KG and her fellow spunky team members! Team showed good sportmanship, coaches keep things moving and spectators were lively and supportive. Way to go South Fork L. Cubs!
