According to dispatch on the scanner at just before 8 a.m., a patient at the Jerold Phelps Community Hospital emergency room in Garberville is reporting that he was a victim of a home invasion in Alderpoint.

Reportedly the patient was assaulted by six subjects and pistol whipped.

Because this is scanner traffic, we don’t have many details and sometimes information is not as reported. Deputies are at the hospital as of 8:30 a.m interviewing the patient and beginning the investigation.

UPDATE 10:16 a.m.: According to Stacy Hanson a spokesperson for the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, the alleged home invasion occurred in the Rancho Sequoia area. “The victim does show signs of assault–minor injuries.” Hanson said that “personal property was taken.”

Hanson said that deputies are still investigating the incident. “At this time we are unsure who the suspects were,” she said.

The first murder in Rancho was in about 1978. I lived there at the time. Old days were just as bad.

That’s what I thought!! Maybe they were recovering something stolen from someone else. Its at least fun to day dream about their style of justice until you remember how two of them died. That was a couple months after I left that road. My welcome to the neighborhood was someone dumping my trash everywhere to steal my trashcans. Good ol’ Rancho.

I am just shaking my head. That you would even put that thought in writing on a public site tells me exactly why you replied under an alias. Consider the ones that still grieve over the loss of loved ones.

Still plenty of good folks there, less and less every year tho, I’m sure it’s the same in most small parcel subdivisions, trinity pines, ect.
