Sheriff’s Office Rescues Two Men Lost in the Woods With Help of GPS

This is a press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:

Sheriff badge Humboldt CountyOn Wednesday March 8, 2017 at about 12:51pm the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Communications Center received a 911 call from a male subject, age 32. The male caller stated himself and another male subject, age 35, were lost in the wooded area behind First Road, McKinleyville.

Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center was able to determine a GPS location of the subjects with the assistance of the male caller’s cell phone provider. Deputies located the two subjects a short time later. Both subjects were in good health and were lead out of the wooded area on foot.
