Klamath-Trinity Joint Unified School District Open But….
Klamath-Trinity Joint Unified School District: Will be open
However, there will be “No district transportation from Weitchpec, Pecwan or Orleans. Down River HS students can go to Jack Norton and Orleans HS students can go to Orleans Elem. We will try to have a teacher at Orleans. Students can stay home and get credit for attendance tomorrow if they feel like that is safer. “
These are the affected campuses:
- Captain John Continuation High School
- Hoopa Valley High School
- Hoopa Valley Elementary School
- Jack Norton Elementary School
- Orleans Elementary School
- Trinity Valley Elementary School
- Two Rivers – Rivers Edge Community Day School
- Weitchpec Yurok Magnet/Elementary School

and now there is a huge slide between willow creek and hoopa. gonna have to get a boat to get to school.
Always Dowd Rd. to navigate.
Please be aware that there are sections of Dowd Rd. that are very mucky/slippery and difficult to navigate in a two wheel drive vehicle, be it a car or a truck. It was not designed to handle the huge commuter traffic.
Also, both OES and JNES have teachers, the article above sounded a tad confusing regarding that.
The students should be getting “excused absences” not “credit” if they stay home due to the slide/road conditions.
