[UPDATE 12:35 p.m.] A Vehicle on Fire; Possible Occupant Might Need Extrication

Traffic Collision Car AccidentAccording to scanner traffic which came over the radio about 11:30 a.m., a white, older sedan near the third span of the Samoa Bridge “rolled off [the] roadway and is now on fire.”

The first report requested extrication. Later reports indicate that the witness is unsure whether the vehicle is occupied or not.

UPDATE 11:40 a.m.: According to the scanner, the first emergency personnel on scene reports, one vehicle about 50 feet over the embankment, one person out of the vehicle, and the personnel on scene are investigating if there are other occupants. No report on fire.

UPDATE 12:24 p.m.: The California Highway Patrol Incident Page is reporting only minor injuries.

UPDATE 12:35 p.m.: A reader sent these photos of what occurred.

Lots and lots of sirens this morning. Eureka downtown. Scary. My brother sent me video of snowing on Clear Lake.
