[UPDATE 1:49 p.m.] Garbage Truck Struck Power Lines; Driver Trapped
A garbage truck struck power lines on Thomas Road west of Miranda about 12:33 p.m. According to the California Highway Patrol Incident Page, the driver is trapped. The truck is still on the roadway. The driver is uninjured.
Salmon Creek Volunteer Fire and Miranda Fire are responding to the scene.
UPDATE 12:51 p.m.: The driver has been instructed to stay in the vehicle. PG&E is estimates they will be at the scene about 1:20 p.m.
UPDATE 12:57 p.m.: A reader and local resident tells us that law enforcement and a PG&E vehicle are headed to the scene from lower Salmon Creek. She also tells us that the downed lines are not anywhere on Salmon Creek Road as she drove most of it on the way out. They must be on Thomas Road.
UPDATE 1 p.m.: The PG&E Outage map shows several residents along Thomas Road are without power.
UPDATE 1:49 p.m.: The power lines have been removed from the roadway, according to scanner traffic.
