Stan Dixon, Former County Supervisor and Ferndale Mayor, Has Passed Away
Dixon, a Democrat, was elected to the Board of Supervisors in 1989 and remained there until 2001. He served as Ferndale mayor for 16 years. Dixon was also a long-serving member of the state Board of Forestry and Fire Protection. He was appointed in 1999 and served until 2013. He was appointed chairperson of the Board in 2002. Towards the end of his term, he was known for his opposition to the $150 Cal Fire fee that was enacted in 2011.
