[UPDATE 9:10 a.m.: Not as Reported] Law Enforcement Searching for a Suspect Alleged to Have Shot at a Woman

According to scanner traffic that began about 8:10 a.m., a man reportedly shot at a woman near Myrtle Avenue. Though the details are unclear at this point, the suspect was detained near Myrtle and 19th Street.

UPDATE 8:33 a.m.: Law enforcement are clearing the residence where the alleged shooting occurred, according to traffic on the scanner.

UPDATE 8:52 a.m.: According to the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Public Information Officer Stacy Hanson, at 8:04 a.m. emergency call center received a call reporting a shot fired in the 2300 block of Jersey Avenue. However, at this time, they are not sure that the report is correct. A man has been detained at this point. We will update when we know more.

UPDATE 9:10 a.m.: According to Hanson, the situation was “not as reported.” One person is in custody but is on a warrant issue not related to this call.
