[UPDATE 3:34 p.m.] Briceland Road Blocked by Tree Near China Creek
According to the California Highway Patrol Incident page, a tree is blocking the Briceland Thorn Road near China Creek.
UPDATE 1:30 p.m.: Road is open but the guard rails were damaged, according to traffic on the scanner.
UPDATE 1:52 p.m.: According to Denton Carrick of the Humboldt County Road Crew, the road is flooding in this area. Please drive slowly.
In addition, the problem area around Huckleberry Hill on Briceland Thorn Road is getting worse. It is one lane for now. The County Crews are doing what they can to keep it open.
UPDATE 3:33 p.m.: A reader shared this photo of the tree on the bridge being cleared by a county truck.

We were on our way home from Briceland and encountered this situation. Kudos to Briceland Fire Rescue, County road crews, and private citizens for excellent work in getting it cleared from the roadway!!!!
