Slide on Hwy 36
Watch for rocks and mud on the roads today. This slide on Hwy 36 just west of Grizzly Creek Redwoods forced a lane closure earlier today. Caltrans is working on it as of 2 p.m.

Definitely close the road for weeks , maybe months
It will take CALTRANS longer to fix it than it took to build the road the first time
Would have that dinky slide cleared and hauled off in a few hours.
Very glad to see the video posted was taken by a passenger and not the driver! Notice the Caltrans worker near the end of the video. They are in a vulnerable position, should a driver not be paying attention, or is impaired.
I’m surprised it took this long for that section to slip, it’s known locally as an ongoing problem!!! A few years back it let go & blocked both sides of the road for quite while!!! I don’t ecall exactly how long but it was at least a week likely longer!!! Then one lane conrolled, for months til it was shored up to Cal Trans specs!!! Which is why I’m surprised it lasted as long as it did without any more major dumps until now!!!
You have no idea what you are talking about. 36 hasn’t been closed for a week in recent years….. yet. You have been talking a LOT of shit tonight Dan. The hills are watching…………
I said it had been a while!!! Watch all you jolly well want you aren’t going to see much!!! But hey, feel free to freak freely!!!!
BTW I Do Not talk sh!t!!! I state my opinion on matters plain & simple don’t like what I have to say??? Don’t read it!!! ;op
Yo, Dan. It’s okay to use periods once in a while.
What did they do to the narrows? Drove thru the other day. Looks bare as hell.
