[UPDATE Tuesday] High Speed Chase in Table Bluff Area
A Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputy was chasing a burglary suspect in a vehicle traveling at 60 to 80 mph on Copenhagen Road in a goldish gray Chevy Tahoe. As of 12:29 the suspect vehicle headed north on Eel River Road.
UPDATE 12:35 p.m.: The Humboldt County Sheriff discontinued the chase but one officer discovered the vehicle. The driver, who was wanted for taking the vehicle, began fleeing on foot. The officer began chasing him towards Hwy 101.
UPDATE 12:41 p.m.: The officer detained the suspect as of 12:41 p.m.
UPDATE 1:43 p.m.: According to Selena Zorrilla-Mendoza, “Currently the incident is still under investigation. Just before 8 a.m., we received a report of a burglary to a business on the 1000 block of Weott Drive. Deputies responded and met with the reporting party.”
Eventually she says officers detained a suspect. “We will release more information once it becomes available.”

Good job HCSO!!! Sure glad I wasnt on that road today doing my slow driving looking for beautiful things to photo!!! I have to stop and put flashers on to take the photos, it wouldnt have been a good thing to get plowed by this dude!!!
Getting so fed up with these wastes always trying to outrun cops on the same roads my loved ones use every day.
Laws pertaining to using vehicles during crimes need to be toughened up. Big time.
