California’s Attorney General Joins 15 Others Condemning President Trump’s Recent Actions Affecting Immigration

Press release from the California Department of Justice:

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra joined fifteen attorneys general from New York, Pennsylvania, Washington, Massachusetts, Hawaii, Virginia, Oregon, Connecticut, Vermont, Illinois, New Mexico, Iowa, Maine, Maryland and the District of Columbia, condemning President Donald Trump’s executive order:

“As the chief legal officers for over 130 million Americans and foreign residents of our states, we condemn President Trump’s unconstitutional, un-American and unlawful Executive Order and will work together to ensure the federal government obeys the Constitution, respects our history as a nation of immigrants, and does not unlawfully target anyone because of their national origin or faith.

Religious liberty has been, and always will be, a bedrock principle of our country and no president can change that truth.

Yesterday, multiple federal courts ordered a stay of the Administration’s dangerous Executive Order. We applaud those decisions and will use all of the tools of our offices to fight this unconstitutional order and preserve our nation’s national security and core values.

We are confident that the Executive Order will ultimately be struck down by the courts. In the meantime, we are committed to working to ensure that as few people as possible suffer from the chaotic situation that it has created.”

Note: Jared Huffman, a Democrat from our district posted on Facebook,

I’ll be on the front steps of the Supreme Court tomorrow at 6pm with colleagues from the House and Senate demanding that Pres. Trump withdraw his despicable, unconstitutional executive order. I believe the law, the people of this country, and the international community are all with us on this.

I seriously hope Trump begins to arrest these SJW types and after facing trial for treason, he shows mercy by parachuting them into North Korea.

It’s time to reclaim the country and rid the lands of leftist filth.

If he arrests these people it should include four generations of their families.

These people aren’t Americans and deserve North Korea.

no bother .Nevermind.
Speaking of treason, ol man Trump took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution.
I feel that this action, amongst many others he has done in the last week, shows that he has betrayed such oath, and is therefore a traitor to his oath, The Constitution, and therefore to America.
That’s the guy you should be going after…..
Single white jews might be annoying, but hardly traitorous…..

Trump dead would be something else. Nobody to hold Pence back, and you now have a lot of really pissed off powerful Generals who are holding the keys to JSOC which is closely allied with the CIA. If you don’t know who JSOC is you should bone up on them. Go deep. These are the folks that have Trumps back right now, and are straight up military minded in their methods. Take your pick. Put up with the Trumpisms or take responsibility for letting the dogs off the porch.

There is a difference between safety for our country and out and out disregard of the constitution and laws that make this country what it is. We are going down a very slippery slope with the actions of President Trump who is acting more like a demigod than a President who is suppose to act for all Americans, all people and not just the people who voted him into office. Before anyone screams I’m a democrat, I’m not. Not by a long shot. I just know what is right and what is wrong and what he is doing is very wrong. I have no doubt his monarchy will be short. I pray this is so.

Tell that to the thousands of families who have lost loved ones from milicious attacks from Muslim extremists entering our country. Because I’ll bet if you were to meet one, an extremist face to face they’d cut your throat and burn your body for all to see while praising Allah . These are not people to fuck around with. They’re extremists and they hate us. You should be thankful and praying for 9/11 to never happen again. Ever!

Do you seriously believe that what he is doing will make it better, or keep us safe? Good lord sir. He is putting a target on this country greater than we have ever had before. Not everything is linear. One has to look at the big picture the big ramifications of what he is doing. It’s not simply “keeping the so called bad guys out”. its world wide relations. I fear for all of us.

If Trump goes after ISIS the way he says he will, we will need to exercise very strict border and immigration policies to protect our country, because there may be a prolonged deluge of bad guys trying to get in. This is going to be a war and people should think in terms of that. If the Islamist radicals and the nut jobs in the US tee off on us they will not ask you who you like before they kill you. If the poop’s going to hit the fan with radical Islam I would rather be standing behind the fan. Don’t forget who dropped the ball after Bush pretty near had a lid on things. Obama didn’t leave us much of a choice. Fight or die.

Bush goddamn started it with his invasion of Iraq which is widely recognized as one of the biggest, if not THE biggest foreign policy disasters in American history. The 9-11 attacks were plotted and initiated out of Afghanistan not Iraq or Saddam.

Yeah, the radicals were about finished when Obama finally got to pull our troops out after Bush’s interminable 3-month (ha-ha) war. Iraqis were given their nation back but they coldn’t hold it. You want to be there forever?

Time for the Draft to be re-activated! Who do You Trump Suckers think is going to do all this fighting? Thousands of families? You’re nuts. Crazy Christians kill people all the time. You’re going to have nutjobs occasionally everywhere. I have contempt for religion in general, but we are free to believe in anything but violence. We put up with all sorts of crazy religions. Vast majority of Muslims reject the nasty parts of the Koran as most Christians reject the violent, crazy Bible verses.

Our batshit crazy president just said that his bans are not about Muslims. Blames the media for reporting exactly what he says and does. Your hero hurts us with almost everything he does.

Would someone be kind enough and site the Constitution to justify the charge that Trmp’s action is unconstitutional.

Saudi Arabia should have been #1 on this list.

And remember, Jimmy Carter did the same thing with Iran during the Iranian Revolution and subsequent hostage crisis.

BTW, this bans people from certain countries, not certain religions.

Well said ULLR.
This has been confusing, because we haven’t received the intel. All I know is, it’s a temporary halting of certain foreign countries.
I think even Obama did that to Iran, a military serviceman got killed because of that halt.
I wouldn’t think the Calif officials who hate Trump, in Kyms article, would have the necessary pentagon-military-CIA intel for informed opinions, but maybe no intel is information enough for them?
The article & their blowhard event doesn’t surprise me though.
I think I might be on the grumpy side of dinner. Which just might be a good time to give those “officials” a call, & see what kind of intel they’re going by.

I asked the question because there is nothing in the Constitution which prohibits Trump from keeping certain foreign nationals out of the country. In fact, one of the explicit duties of the federal government is to secure the borders of the USA. Article 4, section 4.

I just read that Trump closed these 5 countries because they are on Obama’s hit list of Terrorists. These 5 countries aren’t heavily populated with Muslims. Obama had congress approve the list a few years back. Trump is doing due diligence work, reviewing visa’s & processing. He’s also arranged for the refugees to stay in safe zones with richer countries.

Truthy, Trump is reviewing the processing of the 7 countries that Obama put on a Terrorist list. It has nothing to do with religion. Indonesia, for instance, is heavily populated with Muslims, yet are not on the list.

I’ll start with an easy one.
Laws are laws. They are passed by congress and signed by the prez.
Executive orders are not laws. Enforcing them as such is very much against the checks and balances. And using executive orders to countermand law is absolutely against it.
This is obviously not “equal treatment under the law”.
These actions have obviously not been ” to promote the general welfare.” Many of them do the exact opposite.
The idea of “reigning in the press” is absolutely against it.
While many of the other things that have been done, and are in existence ( like his Soviet Bloc wife occupying the White House) aren’t technically against it; it does seem to be against the ideals of liberty, freedom, and safety.
Lets hope that he does loosen up some of those gun laws, for it looks like we just might have to use that 2nd amendment as the founding fathers meant it to be used: for protecting the constitution, liberty, and country from a tyrant who ended up in charge. Many Founders were very fearful of they themselves becoming such a tyrant, and wanted that threat of arms clearly stated.
And lastly: I believe the abortion question has been shown in our culture to be a religious difference of opinion and beliefs . Bad enough our marriages, itself an institution of religion, have to be approved by “the church of the government” before they can be “real”.

Congress shall make no law regarding the establishment of religion. If you are online, you can google it. In our first serious conflict after Independence, in the war with the Barbary Pirates of Libya, our nascent government sent a letter saying that the USA was “in no wise” a Christian nation and not opposed to “Mohammedans.”

See, in a truly free nation, a majority may be Christian or whatever, but they don’t own the nation. This is called “freedom.” You can google it. Some Christians understand freedom for Christians in an Islamic dominated nation, not not so much the reverse.

Absolutely correct that if we choose to trash American traditions and freedoms and flush our ideals down the sewer through fear, ignorance, and loathing, then Saudi nationals should be banned since 15 of the 19 9-11 murderers were Saudi nationals. See, you need to find out which Muslim nations TRUMP is involved with financially to understand the exemptions. Such a patriot! No wonder the Trumpers are proud, so £#~€* proud!

The ban is on nationalities not religion. Regardless, the Bill of Rights is only legally applicable to US citizens. That said, if we are to be the shining beacon of freedom, we should maintain our ideals consistently throughout the world with our actions…. we don’t, and that did not start a week ago.

A patriot is not someone who believes in everything that Trump has said and done and is doing. A patriot is a person who believes in the basic fundamentals of what has made this country great and what this country has stood for. We are a country that is not suppose to foster hate, racism, religious persecution, gender inequality, etc. We are a country that has grown and prospered and realized the errors of our ways and has righted many wrongs. If denying basic care and respect and courtesy to all people no matter their ethnic background makes one a patriot now days then I guess you are right. I am not a patriot of the agenda Trump has for this country. If degrading women with sexual harassment is what makes someone a patriot. I guess you are right. I am not a patriot of the Trump agenda. If denying families and children safe refuge from war torn countries. Then I guess I am not a patriot There are things in this great country that need to change, of that I can agree. But the manner in which it is being done now is wrong. It is hateful. It is divisive and it is not what our fore fathers , all immigrants, had in mind when this country was just beginning. I am a patriot of what this country used to stand for and what this country is based on. What this country should and needs to be. I will respectfully agree to disagree on what makes a patriot and what this county is and should always be. I wrote this in response to a comment posted that stated he was a patriot and was all for what trump is doing. I think it has been deleted or maybe I’m not seeing it anymore. Hence my rant.

Copy/pasted from Ed someone.

‘While all the reactive children ran out to protest about things they don’t understand with the Sour Grapes Democrat Leaders, the Adults were Taking Care of Business to do some good for the Muslim People and all the people living in countries experiencing turmoil. There have been several interviews aired over the past few years where the refugees stated that they would rather remain in the Middle East to return to their countries and homes when the battles are over. It appears President Trump is working hard to make that a reality for them.’

Quotes: “”The president requested and the King agreed to support safe zones in Syria and Yemen, as well as supporting other ideas to help the many refugees who are displaced by the ongoing conflicts,” the statement said… Trump also spoke with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. In what may appear to have been a reference to the Muslim Brotherhood, the Crown Prince was cited by UAE state news agency WAM as saying “groups that raise fake slogans and ideologies aim to hide their criminal truth by spreading chaos and destruction.” The White House said Trump had also “raised the idea of supporting safe zones for the refugees displaced by the conflict in the region, and the Crown Prince agreed to support this initiative.”

One of the biggest eye-openers I’ve ever had was by reading the Koran. It’s available (in big print) through any local book store, around $14 new, paperback. It’s short and an easy read. I highly recommend it.

There are many who are trying to warn all involved about the corruption that infiltrated their caliphate. (namely the same ones who infiltrated the Vatican).
They have revised many of the editions of the Koran, changed words & meanings. They have indoctrinated their schools, fed the children lies, & have made it harder for smaller villages to even go to school to learn to read. Heaven forbid if the more rural areas learn from reading their long held family treasures.
I can’t help but consider the possible truths, upon consideration of what has been happening here in America.
I hope the truths will be revealed before we all go boom.

The ban is for 90 days to get new vetting practices in place. Obama in 11 banned refugees for 6 months. He also bombed the majority of the counties trump had temporarily banned. This was all in place prior to trump he is just taking the action. This is not as big of a deal as people are making it out to be. They have already let people through that served as interpreters in the army etc. Its just about making sure the people that come in don’t have terrorist ties and shoot up places like the guy in Washington that shot up the mall. They will also go through people who have green cards and double check they don’t have terrorist ties. They are not citizens and America has every right to verify they are not a threat to us.

It’s funny how the California Attorney General is talking about the feds having to abide by the constitution, and making sure that they do. What a hypocrite. What has happened to our second amendment rights here in California? I would rather the attorney general make sure that the constitution is upheld in California first!

Move the next 100 refugees from Syria with no checks into the neighborhood of the liberal CA attorney general! Give crying Chuck Schumer the next 100 into his neighborhood. Why when Schumer suggested a similiar idea to Trumps that he wasn’t crying & there was no uproar.

The masterful anti Trump propaganda machine & paid protestors reminds me much of Nazi Germany.

Trump’s immigration ban is not illegal, although it is a gray area. Nor is he the first one to do so in facts up until now, Obama has restricted more refugees than any president since Reagan.

https://www.conservativereview.com/commentary/2017/01/is-trumps-immigration-ban-illegal-ask-the-last-five-presidents

https://www.google.com/amp/thehill.com/blogs/pundits-blog/immigration/316871-trumps-immigration-ban-is-clumsy-but-perfectly-legal%3famp?client=ms-android-uscellular-us

I also would ask, what’s worse, temporarily banning refugees from these countries or bombing them like Obama has been doing for the last 8 years?

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/peace-president-how-obama-came-to-bomb-seven-countries-in-six-years-9753131.html

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/jan/09/america-dropped-26171-bombs-2016-obama-legacy?client=ms-android-uscellular-us

These are not permanent bans just a temporary stay until they can work out a way to properly vet refugees coming to this country. Granted to the president by section 212(f) of the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952 which Obama himself has used several times.
