Have You Ever Watched a Mountain Move?
Have you ever watched a mountain move? Our reporter Oliver Cory witnessed just that while hiking on Guthrie Creek Trail at 12:24 p.m. yesterday. (See the video above.)
Guthrie Creek Trail is about three miles south of Centerville Beach and is part of the Lost Coast Headlands.
[Side note: We don’t recommend hiking this trail at this time of year. Our reporter slipped and fell in the mud shortly before taking this video…]
Just for the heck of it, here’s the before and after:

Wow! Good thing he wasn’t on the part that went down. What amazing luck to get the video. Yikes!
Wow, so symbolic of the times we are in, also, that’s why you, “don’t mess with Mother Nature”, good timing on the video, glad the reporter was safe. Thanks y’all.
Awesome!!
Amazing
Can you imagine trying to get a permit to do that? I wonder how many pages that E.I.R. would have been.
Mother Nature is a cheating bitch!
Outstanding Photography Oliver!
Watch your language Ernie, you and i
are butt lice on her back.
so interesting to see that whole block slide off that lower layer…just add water…
We have enjoyed hiking Guthrie Creek during the dry season. I would not hike the trail this time of the year because the coast is actively sliding into the ocean. The trail is super slippery, too. However, your video is impressive. I am glad no one was hurt.
Very impressive and powerful video. Glad the photographer is safe.
