Escaped Inmate Captured in Orland
Press release from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation:
California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) agents today apprehended the minimum-security state prison inmate who walked away from California Correctional Center Eel River Conservation Camp in Humboldt County yesterday morning.
At approximately 10:45 a.m. on Jan. 18, inmate John Campbell, 38, was taken into custody without incident in Orland by CDCR Special Service Unit agents.
Campbell was committed to CDCR on May 13, 2016, from Butte County to serve a seven-year, four-month sentence for vehicle theft and evading a peace officer while driving recklessly. He was scheduled to parole in 2021.
Campbell will be transported back to California Correctional Center in Susanville, and will no longer be eligible to be housed in a conservation camp.
Since 1977, 99 percent of all offenders who have left an adult institution, camp, or community-based program without permission have been apprehended.

He ran from the field right next to my apartment complex in Fortuna
Stop breaking the law asshole!
Some folks just can’t help it, apparently. It might be a messed up executive function. (The process which calculates actions and their consequences in the human cyber is busted.)
Caught in Orland trying to get back to homebase in Oroville. Just as another reader predicted.
Glad CDCR got’em. He should never been in camp with a evading charge.
Why is anyone that has a prior arrest for evading n running from police even eligible for a firecamp, with a three ft fence and no supervision, they have unscheduled visits by who knows, bringing who knows ,to who knows, and meanwhile a lieutenant, sits back and finds an inmate that can cook,n ,eats the best of the best,on our dime, meanwhile theres been 75,inmates that just walked awsy,,,,
Good job SSU. Keep up the good work and stay safe.
I don’t understand why people who read these stories about someone’s poor decisions are so quick to judge and label someone for life. The world might be a lil better off if people realized that they are NO ONE to judge because nobody is perfect. U are not judge jury end executioner.
So true fuckin hate people who judge they act like they are so perfect . Sad how our world is nobody really knows what he has been dealing with like me but I had to let go of that life to better be i just hope he gets the help he needs but thank u for saying that much needed .
