During the series of storms earlier this week, roads and private property were damaged. Some homes were crushed under trees, cars crashed with at least one fatal result, and private property was swept away in slides and in windstorms.

The sun broke through yesterday and flood waters are disappearing. However, the Emerald County roads are a mess. Caltrans has cleared most major highways but the many of the miles of back roads under county control are damaged. Some are just pitted with potholes, but others are closed. Below we have the list of highways and county roads with their conditions.

Major Highways:

(Most information below from Caltrans’ Quick Map. If you are heading to Oregon, check their similar site.)

Maybe the county could allocate some of the newly found marijuana money to fix our roads. Since during the season brings in many (I want to say thousands) rigs that are not normally here.

They should not spend a nickel of that money. When Jeff Sessions becomes Attorney General he will begin proceedings against them for contributing to illegal actions and all that money will need to be spent in the federal lawsuit. We all know these permits are being used to mask production that is being sent all over the country and Sessions knows that too. It’s not a secret what is going on here in Humboldt and finally there is somebody in federal office who is sick of our local scam and has the power to make a difference.
