Dahmay Shiday: He believed deeply in helping others
This section includes both obituaries and memories. Honoring our loved ones who have died does not end immediately after their passing. We recognize that… so we’re extending our obituary section to include individuals who may have left a long time ago. If you want to remember someone who is gone, either recently or longer ago, please send a photo and a few sentences to [email protected]. Tell us why you would like to honor the person–is it their birthday, the date of their passing or some other date of significance to you.
Dahmay Shiday was beautiful father to his son Bodhi. He loved his mother, Wendy, sisters, Kasia and Ashly, and whole family very much. He believed deeply in helping others and is missed hugely by many.
We love you to the moon and back, Dahmay.
Happy birthday.
(He died in a car accident at Murray Rd. June 27,2016)

I only knew Dahmay briefly, but thought very highly of him and sincerely enjoyed his presence. I had no idea he had passed, and am deeply saddened. I felt a real connection with him, he was very pure.
To his family: I am so very sorry for your loss, and the loss of his presence to this world.
Dahmay, you will be missed.
Rest in peace..Prayers offered up for the family and friends of this man <3
You were a bright light.
I miss you, my dear brother… and I love you. My heart hurts with the space of your having moved on. I pray for you, that you be filled with love and light now and always. You will always go with me in my heart, until I, too, shed this mortal frame. Bless you, beloved!!!
he changed my life. a true kindred spirit and friend.
Dahmay,
I got to know you only a short time before your passing. I was honored to make you a medicine pouch, that you planned to wear with great intention.
Thank you for supporting my art, for sharing medicine stories, and believing in a world filled with peace and love.
You are missed!
Blessings on the other side. ✨🙏💖
Dahmay loved his community. Always so supportive of local artists and small businesses. He was one of the leaders in Arcata’s Community Pride Project and was great at getting people together to come up with ways to improve the town. -and he had success with it. He wanted to see this town thrive. My heart goes out to his beautiful mother Wendy and his sweet son Bodhi as well as the rest of his family. Thank you for posting this. RIP
