Burglar Tries to Sell Stolen Items to Owner, Says Sheriff’s Office

This is a press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

Anthony Joseph HolbergOn Thursday, January 5, 2017 the Humboldt County Sheriff Office received a report of a burglary victim in the Eureka area in which the victim discovered his stolen property being offered for sale on Craigslist.  Deputy Sheriff’s and the victim made arrangements to meet the seller, 30 year old Anthony Joseph Holberg, at a designated location in Eureka.  Sheriff’s Deputies and the victim soon determined the property being sold was in fact stolen and belonged to the victim.  While at the scene, deputies located several more items that were stolen from the victim.  The suspect Holberg also had two outstanding warrants for his arrest, one of which was for theft.

Anthony Holberg was arrested and transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked for grand theft, receiving stolen property, and his two outstanding warrants.  His bail was set at $50,000.

Unfortunately, this dirt bag has been a loser since high school……. Another one of our homegrown pieces of garbage…… I would like to be able to say I’m surprised by this kids actions, but sadly I am not….

Yup, and many of them using CL for selling their stolen merchandise, hopefully this will lead to more folks getting their stuff back. I tell people the check CL whenever I hear of robberies also. Much the same as backpage caters to hookers, anonymity is what these tweakers lover about CL.
