The Structure That Caught Fire New Year’s Eve Is Smouldering in Eureka

scannerAccording to scanner traffic, flames are coming from the building on West Waterfront Drive in Eureka that burned on December 30/31. (Go here and here for more information and photos.) However, the first engine on scene reported only light smoke. The incident commander said that one engine could handle it.

Especially if there is redwood in the structure.

I drove by yesterday afternoon to look at the place. There was a fire hose still connected to a hydrant.
