Vehicle Vs Bicyclist Near Ferndale Bridge; Major Injury

chp major injury featureA vehicle and a bicycle collided near the Singley Offramp at approximately 9:36 a.m. The bicyclist has head injuries. A person on scene is calling this “an 1180” which is a major injury accident.

One lane is being shut down. Please drive carefully.

UPDATE 10:12 a.m.: The roadway should be clear as the emergency units on scene are returning to their stations.

If is hard to see slow down and drive safely following the road conditions as stated on CVC.

Prayers go out for the injured bicyclist & the driver as well. BE VISIBLE & TURN ON YOUR HEADLIGHTS! Besides being the law whenever the windshield wipers are operating, we who have less than perfect eyesight don’t see a gray car on a rainy or foggy day but lights make it less hazardous. Drove home to Humboldt yesterday late afternoon in heavy 101 traffic after the long weekend & was amazed at the clueless motorists & they weren’t RVs either. Lights on & I thank you in advance.
