Redheaded Blackbelt, how come your not sending me updates anymore. Just because I don’t leave a reply on everyone of them, doesn’t mean I’m not grateful. I watch for the ones that I think my son and his family need to know about. I’m not a drama queen, so I don’t feel like I have to reply or read everyone of them. Rose

Until we get a handle on rehabilitation this is going to happen all day all night. So they go to jail for more days. That is not going to do it. If they got prettier after using for an extended time we wouldn’t have the snide remarks would we. More money in serious long term rehab. Sorry that’s just the truth.

Public shaming seems to be the worst thing that happens these days, do drugs go to jail and visit friends, get out do drugs again, a few snarky remarks are called for I believe, hopefully they’ll read them and maybe give a crap, but I doubt it. My 2cents anyways

Rehab doesn’t work , you have to want to be clean and if you wanted to be clean you wouldn’t be on the drugs.

Exactly, and a reason why the healthcare system is a scam…..it is predicated partially upon those who can’t be rehabbed, those who dream up health ailments, those who are pulling faces……those who do not respect themselves.

Well said Bob!
I knew someone who was in mandated treatment ( Prop 36) for 18 months. He got clean. It takes a really long time in rehab. There is physical addiction, psychological addiction, addiction to the lifestyle, the underlying pain, and accompanying feelings of lack of self-worth, that leads to addiction, poor coping skills, and many other aspects that life style that must be addressed. Addiction is a human life in knots.

You also brought up the subject of the snarky remarks that some people feel the need to make about people’s appearance. As Kym said at the ceremony honoring her as Citizen of the Year; (I paraphrase)…’Think of your worst moment, of your worst day, of the worst thing YOU have done, publically announced, with photos. Just try to be a little kinder.’

Repeal prop. 47, for starters. How that wasn’t on the ballot amazies me. Looked good at the time, but turned out a nightmare. First year I’ve ever voted, paid any attention at all. Wow! Trump scares me. So does she, just a little less. Meth and heroin are taking over. More rehabs and jail time needed. Not raises to stupidvisors, etc. Google how much these putzes make…really!!!

For meth with distribution charge it’s 16, 24, or 36 months.
They spend a third of their sentence inside.

No diversion court, if charged with a felony, even for first offenders.

How about instead of reversion, retention, rehab……..

Hard Time……..too stinking bad for people who are fucked in the head peddling drug addicts that don’t respect themselves, or others.

No help for scumbags…..

More rehabs? And more traffic school ! cause they both have about the same success rate, it’s amazing how we as,a society get stuck in a rut so easily.

We do need rehabs and a local treatment system.? Do you think people who are addicted actually think life is wonderful. No they don’t. There is a huge fear involved to ask for help. Your psychological process is a telling you I’ll quit tomorrow, day after day. It a vicious cycle. I’m tired of the comments on LOCO stigmatizing addiction. I escaped from the chains of addiction. Is getting clean and sober easy? No. Is it worth it? YES!!

Kym, it reads to HOJ the commenter was explaining why she visits your site, not confusing you for LOCO, but you are busy and probably reading too fast……slow down, don’t get a ticket….👮

Has anyone else noticed that since the advent of our 12 to 10pm Deputy Melendy, our complaints are being handled with a sense of caring for a safer Garberville?

Or,

It could just be the shmoozing public relations protocol most recently being handed down through the ranks of deputy dogs…..because external relations have sucked wads and wads of gauze, and paramedics were running low.

Trust takes a lifetime, a generation to reboot, if at all.

Good, now they should go to each one of the sleazebag motels and charge the owners with maintaining a residence.

I was in Garberville last Saturday in the late afternoon. I had not been there for at least 8-10 months, yikes, it was so seedy and disgusting. The parking lot behind my friend’s office was littered with trash, a passed-out bum, vomit and stunk like piss. The sidewalks were jammed with hopeful trimmers, their belongings and dogs. My friend is moving her office north this week and was so happy to be leaving. I worked in the Garberville area for two summers in the early 90s and man, it’s gone downhill, bigly!

Let us put this information out there again for all the lovely Meth heads around. I’m a healthcare professional. I have worked in many lcoal facilities. We routinely test what is known “meth” to our local tweeks. Mom, concerned family, friend brings it in. Guess what I would say 90% of the time no meth, pcp, pesticides, no meth at all. Meth used to be cooked by military men. They got done with duty kept their recipes and skills. This was in the late 60’s – 70’s. Rode their bikes passed it atound. Now…most of the REAL TRUE cooks are dead or in jail so no “quality” dope around hence all the twacked out tweekers…snorting pesticides, or whatever can be sprayed on a peice of glass, left to dry, scrapped up and stuffed in a bag. Yummy!!!

This is not the first time I have heard you hearkening back to the good old days with the “real” meth cooks. “Real” meth is out there. We used to call it glass. It’s super clean and clear and looks like shards of glass. Guess what! It fucks people’s lives up just the same. As a “health care professional”, you should know that the”quality” dope you brag about still SUCKS and makes people twacked out tweekers.
