Smoke seen near Grasshopper Mountain from the Salmon Creek area. [Photo by Kym Kemp]
A large column of smoke is rising from the Grasshopper Lookout area. According to the Salmon Creek Fire Chief Matt Stark, there is a controlled burn in the area. The column is large and dramatic but the smoke should start dying down now as the fire crews are no longer lighting areas on fire.

Smoke vs. Cloud
Yep there was a lot of smoke in the Bull Creek watershed today.
I feel sorry for all the wildlife running for their lives tonight.
Let’s hope it burns some of those growing operations.
It’s a controlled burn, doubt they will be letting on people’s land.
Controlled burn? friendly fire ?Dont worry Lisa,
god gave wildlife legs for a reason…man is in the forest….run away, run away!
