Southern Humboldt residents scrambled to throw tools under cover this morning as a light rain began falling. Undaunted by the 0% chance of precipitation predicted on Weather.com and Wunderground.com, water plopped from intermittetly cloudy skies onto dusty ground.

Residents from Whitethorn to Fortuna reported clouds from the north began dropping light but persistent rain about 6:30 a.m.

Earthdance fest was around these dates every year and I remember it pouring there!
A good sign of some older weather patterns, farmers almanac says we’re due for big winter storms this year.

.05″ fell in my gauge near Ettersburg. Just enough to settle the road dust for a day.
