Drugs have been in this community for many years. It is not going to go away. And don’t forge alcohol Is just another drug when abused and it has been with us for tens of years. It would indicate that since it is not going away and will most likely be here forever It is wasted time to think we can eradicate it. Is there an answer to this? Appears not to be. Should we build more prison in the hope of eventually locking up all the druggies. I doubt it since incarceration is very expensive and who will pay the bill? A year in jail for one inmate costs the county around $34,000. A new jail to house another 50 drug criminals would cost $1.7 million tax dollars. And that isn’t even factoring in the cost of the police officers arrest the drug offenders or the cost of processing them through the courts. That $1.7 million quickly grows to mucho dineros. Locking up criminal is very expensive. In California we spend billions to fund the state prisons. And that cost is growing and is out of control. So what is a city to do? What we have been doing since 1940’s. Put them in the revolving criminal legal system. And we all know that isn’t working!

They need to have a work camp work them like slaves they all have a lot to pay back to society most have stolen from everyone they know. Create a work camp hard labor it does no good to baby them in jails and even in prison there are way to many luxuries.

“While detectives were searching the residence, Jordan Cardoza, 21 of Eureka, walked in and said he was looking for someone.”- What a dumb ass. LMAO! I’m sure there was police vehicles parked in front of the house, why would you ‘walk in’ especially if you know you have warrants instead of turning and walking away.
