Fortuna PD Provides Update for the National Summer/Labor Day Anti-DUI Crackdown

AVOIDWednesday Anti-DUI campaign numbers, provided by the Fortuna Police Department:

HUMBOLDT, COUNTY, CA – The National Summer/Labor Day Anti-DUI crackdown arrest update: From 12:01 AM Friday August 19, 2016 through Midnight Tuesday August 30, 2016 officers representing 10 county law enforcement agencies have arrested 39 individuals for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. (**NOTE: These numbers are only provisional with some agencies yet to report**)

For the second weekend of the National DUI Mobilization extra DUI Saturation Patrols will be deployed across Humboldt County. Additionally, all regularly scheduled traffic and patrol officers will continue efforts to stop and arrest DUI drivers during their normal shifts.

Police, Sheriff and the CHP are requesting motorists to help make the community safer: Report Drunk Drivers – Call 911. Funding for this program is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

DUI arrest data collection will continue through Labor Day midnight Monday, September 5, 2016. Avoid DUI programs, named for the number of police agencies in each county, will deploy Multiple/DUI Driver’s License Checkpoints and local Roving DUI patrols region-wide during this 18 day Summer/Labor Day Campaign.

I welcome the checkpoints and extra officers out on patrol! There are many lives lost every year to DUI driving that are 100% preventable.

All you people are in danger of a sharp rebuke from Ernie B., especially since you named a name and are hiding behind your anonymous persona. Don’t say you weren’t warned.

Actually I was agreeing with them. Just because I said that we can’t blame the cops that no witnesses will come forward and testify that she was the driver doesn’t mean that I’m not just as frustrated as everybody else.

My test is, would I be surprised to find that someone else was actually driving. If a couple of eyewitnesses came forward and said somebody else was driving I would have to believe it because I can’t prove otherwise.

I find it difficult to critisize the cops, because I just don’t know the real story.

As far as the “anonymous” crap goes, you can say some pretty stupid stuff when you don’t have to own up to it.
But, that’s okay, stupid can be entertaining too. Just not credible.
