Report of a Shooting in Willow Creek; Possible Suspect Detained in Blue Lake

At approximately 12:32 PM this afternoon, deputies and an ambulance responded to the report of a possible gunshot victim at the Willow Creek Community Health Center.  The victim had multiple gunshot wounds to their lower extremities.  The shooting was believed to have happened on Saber Tooth Road in Hoopa near Titlow Hill.

Scanner traffic indicates a possible suspect was located and detained at the Pump’n Play Gas Station in Blue Lake. (See photo above.)

Lt. Wayne Hanson of the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office stated, “The gunshot victim is being airlifted….There was a robbery of the victim’s yellow pickup truck. We’re not sure where the yellow truck is right now.”  Hanson said deputies had “several suspects.”

“We’re on scene sorting things out,” Hanson said.

UPDATE 9:43 p.m.:

On 08-12-2016 at 11:50 a.m. Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a report of an armed robbery that just occurred off Sabretooth Road, Willow Creek It was reported to the Sheriff’s Office that approximately 2- 3 male suspects took the victim’s yellow pickup truck. While deputies were responding to the scene they received information that a male victim had been shot.

The male victim is currently being airlifted to an out of the area hospital. At this time unknown condition on the male victim. Sheriff Deputies are currently securing the scene. Detectives have been called out to take over the investigation.

Saber Tooth Road is below Titlow, not Hoopa.

I see chp in the pic oh and he is a sarge he should be looking for marci kitchen. Funny how Hansen do sent say who the suspect or suspects are.

You know I was reading an update about person responsible for catastrophic Valley fire and I was thinking how this guy was more likely go to jail for faulty wiring than Marci Kitchen.
