Flippen Robberies….

Eureka Police believe that David Benjamin Flippen (39 years old of Eureka) who they arrested last night is responsible for several of recent gas station robberies.

This is a press release from the Eureka Police Department. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

On 8/05/2016 at about 11:58 PM, officers of the Eureka Police Department responded to the report of a robbery that had just occurred at a Gas Station at the 1700 block of Broadway in Eureka. Officers were advised that two subjects, one armed with a knife, had robbed the station and fled, taking an undisclosed amount of cash, cigarettes, and lottery tickets. The subjects were described as both about 5-5” in height, wearing baseball caps, sweaters and masks.

While enroute to the call, officers observed two subjects entering the alley between California and Pine Street, from 15th Street. Officers ultimately were able to detain the two subjects at an apartment complex at the 1400 block of California Street.

One of the subjects was in possession of a large knife and items consistent with those stolen during the robbery. Both subjects were ultimately taken into custody.

Search warrants were served on two apartments at the complex where the subjects were taken into custody.

As a result of the search warrant services, more stolen items from the robbery were located, along with other items of evidence.Pinkard

Great. I’ll bet these are the same guys that set off illegal fireworks all the time in that alley. Maybe my neighborhood will be a little quieter for a little while. Thank you EPD!

These two 40 year old men are poster children for the present and future of crimes in and around Humboldt County. Our DA and the entire court system needs to put people like this away for years, not months. Our police do the hard work by putting their own lives in danger, by catching them and then it becomes a matter of “Catch and Release”! At 40 years of age nobody can change these inbred habits of stealing from someone just so they can make a “living”. It causes all people who work hard for their money to lock everything up, just so people like this don’t walk off with it. Lock these POS’s up and throw away the key. They have committed crimes all their lives to make a “living”!!! They don’t want to change so they should lose their personal freedom along with the ability to be among us. It seams to me that it’s so simple, but our govt. in its endeavor to be “Politically Correct” wants to somehow reform them and it’s just a waste of time and good money. Get them off the streets until they understand they can’t make a living stealing from other people who work hard every day. JMHO

We end the war on drugs and maybe we’ll have room in jail for real criminals.

Nothing’s free. If they are ‘sent away’ we have to pay to feed and house them during all that time. Might be more than the cost of losing property to theft… but less stress.

Armed robbery is a much more serious crime than burglery. These clowns, if convicted, will do serious time.
