Man Dies in Logging Operation Near Blue Lake

Press release from the Humboldt County Coroner’s Office:

hcso badge HumboldtOn 08/01/2016 at about 9:30 a.m. a tree faller working in an active logging operation was accidently killed when the tree fell in an unexpected direction. The tree faller was struck by the tree resulting in his sudden death. The logging operation was in the area of Timber Ridge Lane near Blue Lake. Responding agencies included Cal Fire, Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, and Cal Osha.

The deceased person has been positively identified as 31 year old Travis Jon Cornelison from Rogue River, Oregon.

So sad, condolences for the family. I know first hand the pain from losing a member of the family from a logging accident.. My thoughts and prayers are with this family during this sad and tragic time.

This young man was doing something he loved to do! Hope his family knows how much he meant to our community. He will be missed…R.I.P. Travis….My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of this young man.
