[UPDATE 2:58 p.m.: Major Injuries] Motorcyclist Injured Near Big Lagoon

Emergency dispatch relayed a report of a motorcycle accident near Big Lagoon about 1:52 p.m. The dispatcher said there was a motorcyclist down “with femur fracture…with possible protrusion.” Northbound lane is blocked.

Then at 1:57 p.m. the dispatcher quotes State Parks saying there may be three vehicles involved and three injured parties.

The dispatcher was trying to nail down the exact location as there were conflicting reports of either Big Lagoon or Stone Lagoon. The current location emergency personnel are heading towards north of Trinidad by Big Lagoon “where freeway turns back into a highway.” That would be the south end of Big Lagoon if the description is accurate.

UPDATE 2:06 p.m.: Single patient. Moderate injuries. Northbound lane blocked was the most recent information on the scanner.

UPDATE 2:58 p.m.: The California Highway Patrol Incident Page reports this is a major injury accident.
