[UPDATE 7:41 a.m.] Cody Meyers Arrested: The Deja Vu Suspect Wanted Twice in 8 Years for Attempted Murder Caught Again

Twice wanted for attempted murder. Twice sought after fleeing the scene. And…twice captured.

Cody Meyers was arrested at 7:17 p.m. yesterday and booked into the Humboldt County Jail last night on charges of attempted homicide.

Meyers was wanted for allegedly stabbing a man on July 11th in Hoopa. Law enforcement has been seeking him ever since.

In 2008, Meyers was wanted for attempted homicide after allegedly attacking a man with a golf club. He was later arrested. We don’t know at this time if he was convicted for that crime or if he will convicted for the stabbing this month in Hoopa.

UPDATE 7:41 a.m.: Press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:

On 07-13- 2016 at about 6:35 p.m. the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office along with the California
Highway Patrol Officers received information that Cody Meyers maybe behind the Hoopa Mini Mart in Hoopa hiding in the brush.

Officers immediately responded and began to check the area for Meyers by walking on trails through the thick brush. Officers located Meyers in the brush area, who then immediately took off running when he saw the officers. After a short foot pursuit, Meyers was taken into custody without further incident.

Meyers was transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility in Eureka. Meyers has booked in to custody with no bail.
