Oh no. This is too awful. Catch this bastard, please. And put them away for many years.
Yeah this person has to be a scumbag, one of the girls killed in this incident (Faith Tsarnas) actually went to school with me, we had promoted last month. It feels like yesterday when I was helping her out in math since she couldn’t grasp the subject.
Heartbreaking news. My condolences to the families and friends.
And to the driver, you know who you are.
Most likely reading all our comments this morning too.
Turn yourself in.
So far all you’ve done is wrong on so many levels.
Do the right thing. Now.
Oh my god! My heart goes out to all those family members who are related to these girls. Let’s find that driver!!
I know right it’s just so sad :*(
Just horrible all the way around condolences to the family .seems like I’m writing this alot . What a horror show .
To the driver… You have already done bad by hitting them, even if they were in the road. You have done worse by fleeing, even if you were just scared. But now you can make it better for the families, and EASIER for you if you turn yourself in. The longer you hide, the worst it will be when they catch you. And they will catch you.
I can’t begin to imagine the shock to these families, but they have all my sympathy and I hope peace will be restored to them.
And I sincerely hope that neighborhoods throughout this area will LOOK for this grey Jeep, and follow up with a 911 call. Odd car parked under brush? Fresh front end damage? New off road tire tracks? “…light grey colored jeep type..” If we are all on ALERT, we’ll find this miscreant.
And to you, Driver: If you have a shred of personal honor, you’ll accept your responsibility, at any cost, and turn yourself in. af
I hope someone isa very, very scared right now, and reading this.
Facts:
1) Two girls skateboarding in the traveled lane (were there skateboard wheel skid marks from the impact/collission?) Wait, there is no blame to go around yet, this was an accident.
2) Driver leaves scene (was driver male, female, adult, minor, carjacking, impaired, disabled, public employee, a judge, a business owner, etc…..weird things happen like an HSU higher up killing a county supervisor)
3) Blame the driver (for leaving scene)(what kinda story will be manufactured by any lawyer to explain away why a driver did not notice two skateboarders at dusk or even see them or feel the impact)
4) unfortunately, two teenage girls were mistaken to think they could not be impacted by being in a traveled lane. Life, choose wisely. Parents, hold a tighter leash.
Are you serious? I can’t believe the ignorance of your comment. First of all it’s not the parents fault and for you to imply that it’s their fault for not “holding a tighter leash” they were skateboarding in the middle of summer in a great town. Yes it might have been an accident but the person took off, that’s not a story that’s a fact, and it does not matter what gender or what their job title was. Good job hiding behind your keyboard Henchman of Justice.
nicely put Adam. this is my bosses daughter &and her friend. it is a complete tragedy to all of us that know the family. such awesome people. accidents happen but leaving the accident….that’s NO accident!! please pray for them!!
Names..?
I go to school with Faith actually, she’s really nice
It turns out it may HAVE been a parents fault, but yes that was a senseless comment. It’s a wonder henchmen didn’t throw a race category in there, jeez.
To you henchman and your coment and your parents I say let me run your leash for just a few moments.
In the free America I grew up in people had no problems slowing for a pair of kids playing on the street no matter. Even if it was to call them dumb asses and motivate them to leave the roadway. Otherwise no matter the consequences stand up to what you did.
On behalf of those girls their families and for any father of a daughter…. To you I will your ignorance be repaid in your pain and blood but not death.
And to the driver….hang no matter the excuse you buy
Sadly this kind of thing is nothing new to the Humboldt area. 20 years ago we lost an amazing young woman due to the same sort of negligence of some asshole driver. One can only blame the driver for not paying attention and not stopping at the scene. Sad.
I fully appreciate your ability to see things from all perspective angles and possibilities. A blessing and curse I also posses myself. My condolences to the families and friends of the Victims and all involved
I hope this driver does more time than the last hit and run driver who killed someone and got off. My heart goes out to the families. I cant even begin to imagine your pain. RIP girls. Prayers to the family.
There is a rumor that the suspect is related to one of the victims, and possible female. And why is there no update about them finding the vehicle in a fenced backyard?
I should have posted an update to this article. I’ve done it now. It links to the latest story as of 6:50 a.m. on Thursday. https://kymkemp.com/2016/07/13/jeep-involved-in-hit-and-run-death-of-teens-found-near-home-of-mother-of-one-teen/
From the article I just read, it sounds like she hid the vehicle, contacted an attorney, and only turned herself in when her arrest would have been imminent. Witnesses and tips led them to the residence.
I believe it was the attorney who said, …she was willing…, so that makes it a her and a him.
IMHO, She should receive no brownie points for cooperation or coming forward.
Any up dates at all? Can you at least tell us if the police put a hush on the press?
No hush on the press. Here’s the latest. https://kymkemp.com/2016/07/19/good-progress-learning-about-death-of-fortuna-teens-says-chp-spokesperson/
As a relative in South Central Oregon, my grief is beyond imaginable. Knowing this wonderful beautiful young lady since prior to her birth is gone is horrific. Has CHP EVEN interviewed the bartender as it appears that CHP did NOT conduct a BAC? Headline said, “Driver appeared to be intoxicated.” And NO BAC at the scene OR on the Life Flight to Oakland’s Children’s Hospital, an appropriate time lapse of several hours?.UNBELIVEABLE!!!!!!!!!!
The CHP did not suspect Marci Kitchen to be the driver when they were around her the night of the accident so they didn’t conduct testing then. Kitchen as far as they knew may have been sitting home sipping on wine.

Sorry, it double posted.
So here we are, finally counting down the days until her trial…as i was sitting here this morning, it occured to me that i havent heard one thing about how she is coping with this horrible chain of events that shes responsible for….like major psychiatric counseling, a nervous breakdown, thoughts of, or attempted suicide…you know, the normal stuff any of us would endure, knowing we had killed our own child and someone elses. All ive heard about is birthday parties for her boyfriends grandma, and travelling to Mexico and South America before having to surrender her passport.
And then i thought, I guess she cant really react the way we all would, without having to confess guilt, and God forbid she would do that!
Tons of money or not, i seriously hope the DA has their act together so the judge can make an example out of her.. The fact that all of her charges together could still render her “only probation”, makes me literally physically ill.
God help you Marcia…..
