According to Diana Totten, a spokesperson for Briceland Fire, several small vegetation fires have grown together into about a quarter acre fire near Shop Road west of Redway. Totten who says she was one of the first on the scene explained that the Briceland Thorn Road had to be closed. It just opened about 6:35 p.m. and vehicles are making their way through now.

“Expect delays for the next hour or two as fire crews mop up,” Totten said. “Cal Fire is making good progress.”

The cause of the fire will be investigated.

You would think the map error showing the con camp would have been corrected by now ( in reference to the map inset ).
I am curious as to the cause of these multiple fires.

As a resident of the Briceland area, I am grateful to have such a well organized volunteer fire department to respond to these situations quickly and deal with them effectively. Thanks to the commitment of BVFD volunteers to the safety of our community.
