[UPDATE 11:22 p.m.] Vehicle on Fire West of Fortuna on Riverbar

A full size pickup, a newer model Toyota Tacoma, is on fire west of the Eel River and can be seen from Riverwalk, as of 10:45 p.m. The vehicle was fully involved by the time fire crews from Ferndale arrived on scene.

The flames are spreading to the wildland. No one was around when the fire crews arrived. One more engine was requested. A firefighter tells dispatch over the scanner they should be able to handle the fire.

UPDATE 11:22 p.m.: Vehicle fire is extinguished.
