Man Resisting Arrest Drug Related Charges Injured, Reports Sheriff’s Office

This is a press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guiltyDustin James Daher:

On Friday, 07-08-2016 at 7:30 a.m. the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office and the Arcata Police Department assisted the Humboldt County Drug Task Force with a Humboldt County Superior Court search warrant at a residence located in the 800 block of Wiley Court, Arcata.

When officers arrived at the residence they set up a perimeter. Officers then knocked on the front door to announce themselves as law enforcement and they had a search warrant. Officers then noticed a male suspect later identified as 33 year old Dustin James Daher climbing onto the roof of the residence. Officer then made entry into the residence and detained a female inside. The female was later released with no charges. No other subjects were located inside of the residence.

Once inside of the residence officers saw Daher get down off the roof onto a deck located on the second story of the residence. Officers then attempted to detain Daher. Officers were aware that Daher had multiple arrest warrants including one for resisting arrest. Daher was lying on the floor on his stomach with his hands underneath him next to his waistband.

Officers attempted to grab Daher’s hands and were giving him verbal command to put his hands behind his back. Daher refused the officers command and was actively resisting their attempts to place him into handcuffs. Several Officers had to forcibly place Daher’s into handcuffs and as he continued to physically resist their commands to comply with being handcuffed. After Daher was placed into handcuffs he was transported to a local hospital to be treated for a minor injury he received during his arrest.

When officers searched the residence they located methamphetamines, heroin, and a marijuana butane honey oil lab in the residence.

Daher was then transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked on the following charges: Resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance, possession for sales of a controlled substance, manufacturing of a controlled substance and local arrest warrants for his arrest. Daher’s bail was set at $50,000 dollars.

Anyone with information for the Sheriff’s Office regarding this case or related criminal activity is encouraged to call the Sheriff’s Office at 707-445-7251 or the Sheriff’s Office Crime Tip line at 707-268-2539.

Normally I wouldn’t say anything, but with all of the anti-police sentiment going around lately I am compelled to support the police when a person doesn’t do what they are told to do. I am not passing judgement on what the person was doing to attract the officers attention.

Once once the law is on your door step it is completely stupid to do anything but what they tell you to do. That should be part of your pre-plan if you intend to engage in criminal activity. If you are not a criminal you have even less reason to run and be stupid.

To do anything but comply is dangerous to everyone near you, the officers, and especially yourself.

Man-up, and don’t endanger yourself and others. Yes there are bad cops. We should all be vigilant and report bad cop activity. However, for the very most part, cops are good and they are out there protecting us from stupid people that think they can make crime pay instead of getting a job. We should all thank a cop!

At least 75% of police are corrupt in one way or another. The targeting of cetain people for crimes due to race or whatever it be while others don’t get charged with same crimes is another big issue.
These are main reasons we’re having all these issues, the ones we hear about are only a slight percentage of how often it hapoens, be it beatings, sexual violations, taking private pay under the table from businesses for “extra security”, or just plain stealing of property and money during police raids. And they know they can get away with it! Thats the scariest part. They remind me of gangs.

If you’ve never dealt with a violent cop then lucky you, but remember you don’t know that feeling when it’s made clear someone with authority and a gun knows they can do whatever they want to you with no repurcussions. Its scary in a whole different way. Like watching a cop kick someone’s head in while saying “stop hitting my boot” & then arrest said person for assault on a cop. (Personally witnessed that one a few times)

And hey HCSO get a new writer, the suspects full name was never even listed in the release? Did I miss it?

The article is not about bad cops, but the opposite, good ones trying to do their job. Meth and hash labs go hand in hand in Humboldt. Wake up

Cops earned the name “pigs”. Obviously, some people are. That’s the truth.

If you witnessed inappropriate behavior by a cop I hope that you reported it. One report will certainly be ignored, but the cop is told about it and it is put in his file. After 35 or so reports of bad behavior the management will begin to pay attention. Cops have been let go for bad behavior, but it takes citizen reporting them. To not report bad cops is also stupid. I know that I have witnessed some bad behavior that I didn’t report myself, guilty. We need to start paying attention to bad cops and support the good ones until we have a good police force. Give me a better choice if you have one. I’m pretty certain that anarchy doesn’t work.

I love it. A good example is a liberal that preaches free speech then gets upset and censors someone when they don’t agree with their opinion, especially true with hippies and dopers.
