[UPDATE 10:44 p.m.] Nearly 1000 Without Electricity Following an Accident Near Laytonville Which Closed Branscomb Road

Around 7:15 this morning, a grey Cadillac CTS sedan crashed into a power pole in front of the Red Fox Casino turnoff on Branscomb Road in Laytonville.

“Branscomb Road will be closed for an extended period of time,” according to the California Highway Patrol Incident page.

The page also reports that main power lines are out after a PG&E pole fell into the roadway. PG&E’s outage page tells us that 976 power customers without service. PG&E is on the way there to assess the damage but currently estimates that it will be nearly noon before electricity is restored to all customers.

UPDATE 10:44 p.m.: PG&E is reporting that over 380 people are still without electricity. They estimate that the power will fully be restored by 11 p.m.

It’s been off all day.. Here it is 8:53pm and The workers just told me a few more hours…. I just wanted to relax n watch t.v today… After a long work week…
