On June 8th 2016, Clearlake Police Officers served search warrants on properties located on 2nd Avenue and 3rd Avenue in the City of Clearlake involved in the commercial cultivation of marijuana. The two grow sites were within fifty yards of each other, but are not believed to be connected. One location was in the 16500 block of 2nd Avenue. At that location, Officers seized 643 marijuana plants in various stages of growth. Some of the plants were near mature with large marijuana buds. There was no one located at this location however two canines were impounded by Clearlake Animal Control. A possible suspect later drove by this location and once he saw officers on scene, he sped away in an off road truck toward areas where the patrol cars were unable to follow. The suspect has not been identified, and the only description was a Hispanic male, between 25 and 30 years old, last seen driving north toward 3rd Avenue in a late model, lifted Chevy Silverado truck.

Officers also served a search warrant in the 16400 block of 3rd Avenue. At this location, three suspects identified as 56 year old Timothy Bones out of Humboldt, 19 year old Thomas Christie also out of Humboldt and 30 year old Redlands resident Ade Wijaya-Karre were arrested for cultivation, possession of marijuana for sale, armed during the commission of a felony, and conspiracy. Both Christie and Wijaya-Karre admitted they were hired to trim marijuana. At this location, investigators seized 495 marijuana plants in various stages of growth along with drying marijuana and a thirty gallon container full of marijuana buds. In addition, a loaded handgun and a “billy club were also seized from this location. The three suspects were contacted in a motor home located on the property. An apparent sewer line from the motor home appeared as though it was draining into the ground. It did not appear there were any legal connections. Employees from Environmental Health were contacted; however a representative was unable to respond during the time officers were on scene. Code Enforcement was also requested to scene and will follow up with Environmental Health for possible additional charges.

Anyone with information regarding either of these grow sites is asked to Call Detective Cook at (707) 994 8251 ext 315.

Just stupid waste! So, these cops had solved every single murder and violent crime and were looking for something more to do right? Anyone can see that cannabis prohibition is a complete waste of precious law enforcement and court resources! Lazy police officers picking soft targets instead of fighting real crimes. So back to work lazy cops on, unsolved murders, rapes, assault and theft and leave harmless cannabis alone!

Figures from the Center for Disease Control on numbers of deaths per year in the USA:

* Prescription Drugs: 237,485 + 5000 traffic fatalities
* Tobacco: 390,323
* Alcohol: 88,013 + 16,000 traffic fatalities
* Cocaine: 4,906
* Heroin: 7,200
* Aspirin: 466
* Acetaminophen (Tylenol): 179
* Marijuana: 0, none, not a single fatal overdose in all medical history and almost no traffic problems.

So, which is safer???? Legalize, regulate and TAX!

Wrong. Marijuana is just as bad as alcohol, prescription, drugs, and guns. It is the people that create the problems. Lazy cops? How about lazy and greedy people. The real problems involving marijuana did not start until greed started entering the picture. People cheating, stealing from each other, and even killing each other for greed. The studies haven’t been as intense into marijuana and have been used as propaganda by both pro and against cannabis groups. Studies are emerging describing chemical changes in the body, psycotic behavior, and emotional behavior problems….just as with alcohol and “legal drugs”. Again it’s not the substance, it is the abuse by people. And if you have been paying attention to alot of the arrests, heavy drugs have been found during marijuana investigations. Harmless? You can say that about guns, prescription drugs, vehicles, and knives; again it is the people that do the harm. And legalization, regulating, and taxing is still going to bring more fraud and crime as people ignore the regulations and don’t pay the taxes. These are things that the media has kept quite about in the states that have legalized marijuana use, they only cover the money….greed and people.

[edit] Greed is not synonymous with Cannabis. Cannabis has numerous medicinal uses, Cannabis does not make you violent. And your point on hard drugs being found on marijuana busts, right now marijuana is criminal so criminals will be growing it, Criminals do bad things. There are legal ways to go about growing and selling cannabis

You’re correct about greed not being synonymous with cannabis. Good luck getting some of the people in this county to understand that though. When it comes to anything weed related too many of these people toss the word “greed” around like it was a hackey sack at a Grateful Dead parking lot.

Part of freedom is the right to put limits on criminal activities in your own town. Clearlake has been ravaged by the drug scene for years and apparently there are some free people there who don’t agree with the scene. ISIS consider themselves freedom fighters, but they don’t speak for me, nor do I want them living in my town. Freedom to one man can be hell to another. Some very greedy, dangerous people hide behind the moniker Freedom Fighter. Take Hillary for instance.

Let’s see.
Isis intrudes and dictates every aspect of your life.
How is that similar to a boatload of un organized free marketeers?

Illegal activity is illegal activity, especially it seem at least most of these people have priors.

They arrested someone who was polluting our water supplies with human excrement. God forbid law enforcement keep human shit out of our water supplies and we don’t create another plague.

Criminals commit crimes for a variety of reasons. Greed is not unique to Cannabis growers. Cannabis doesn’t make people into criminals, although criminals are attracted to Cannabis as a way to make money. When the cannabis industry operates within a comprehensive system of rules and guidelines for best practices that protect the environment, consumers, producers and eliminates any potential nuisance, it will no longer be attractive to criminals and the many people who currently participate in the production and distribution of cannabis who are by nature ‘criminals’, will move on to other crimes that bring them money.

Dirty dopers, get it right: Lake County is for METH production, THC is for Humboldt.

Check it out on Google Earth. Not that it really matters but geeks want to know: 16400 3rd Ave. sounds like it might be downtown, but the neighborhood is actually a dirt road nowhereland between Clear Lake and Little Lake. Wooded lots, overgrown fields, trailer homes, junk cars, a couple of greenhouses.
