Scotia Woman Dies on I-5; Three-Year-Old Survives Crash

CHP

A 51-year-old Scotia woman died when the 2014 Honda she was in went off the road on I-5 Saturday near county road 22. The vehicle was badly damaged and even though she was properly restrained she did not survive.

A three-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries and was taken to UC Davis Medical Center. “The child was properly restrained in a car seat which helped,” said a California Highway Patrol spokesperson.

The name of the woman is not being released at this time. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
