[UPDATE 3:44 p.m. ETA for Power to Be Restored Is 11 p.m.] Salmon Creek Road Closed Due to Downed Power Lines
A tree fell and brought power lines crashing onto Salmon Creek Road right before the Thomas Road turnoff about 10:30 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol Incident page. Trees and wire are in the roadway. Humboldt County Roads has been requested for traffic control.
Power is out for approximately 90 customers. PG&E should be on the scene in 20 minutes.
UPDATE 10:54 a.m.: According to Thomas Norris of the Salmon Creek Fire Department, PG&E is now on scene. Three CHP officers at the incident to keep traffic from driving over the downed lines. Hopefully, with PG&E on scene, the road will be opened soon.
UPDATE 11:13 a.m.: Norris tells us that the road should be open in 10-15 minutes.
UPDATE 11:19 a.m.: The road is now open!

UPDATE 12 p.m.: Although PG&E has not updated their outage map, a reader tells us they were able to contact PG&E and were told the power would be back on about 2:30 p.m.
UPDATE 3:44 p.m.: PG&E is now saying it will be 11 p.m. before power is restored.
UPDATE 8:37 p.m.: One reader is telling us that the power is restored.

This occurred about 50 yards West of the hash lab fire, over 1/2 mile from the Thomas Road/ Salmon Creek Road intersection.
Was there a few minutes ago and no one is there.Power should be on shortly.
