[UPDATE 2:30 p.m.] About 3000 Without Electricity in McKinleyville

At approximately 1:15 p.m. power went out to over 3600 customers in the McKinleyville area. By 1:30 p.m. power had been restored to a little over 600 homes. According to a report on the California Highway Patrol Incident page, a fire near the Hwy 101 where Central Avenue and State Route 200 intersect was caused by a tree falling into power lines. PG&E has not confirmed the report. At this time they are offering the standard three hours before the power will be restored.

UPDATE 2:02 p.m.: Another thousand people have had power restored as of 2 p.m. We have also confirmed that the online scanner for north Humboldt is out because of this electical problem.
UPDATE 2:30 p.m.: PG&E is reporting that power has been restored to all but about 200 customers.

The Airport (ACV) has been running on generator power since this started. No disruptions to flights, just some inconvenience to the employees there.
