Smug’s Robber Possibly the Same as Earlier Gas Station Robber

Press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department:

On 5/13/2016 at 2020 hours Humboldt County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to an armed robbery that just occurred at Smug’s Pizza located on Central Avenue, Mckinleyville.  Deputies were on scene within moments of the call.

The suspect matched the physical description of the suspect from the earlier 211 at the Shell Gas station in McKinleyville. The suspect was described as a white male adult, approximately 20-30 years old, about 5’-8” tall with medium build, wearing a black ski mask, red hoody with white writing and brandishing a black handgun.

The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of cash. Wooded areas were checked on foot by deputies. Suspect was not located.
