[UPDATE 4:53 p.m.] Five Car Accident North of Eureka on 101

scannerFive vehicles are involved in a traffic collision north of Eureka on Hwy 101 at approximately 4 p.m. Because of the major incident near Pepperwood getting details on this is difficult. We’ll update as info comes in.

UPDATE 4:10 p.m.: This is a noninjury accident.
UPDATE 4:18 p.m.: One lane blocked.
UPDATE 4:53 p.m.: The Lost Coast Outpost is reporting that southbound traffic into Eureka was impacted as six cars became involved in a chain reaction—“one car rear-ended another, then a car behind those two hit the brakes and got rear-ended itself, etc., etc.”

No doubt! I wish the chp would be more on it in the safety corridor. They could be writing tickets every 10 minutes for lights off, speeding, being on the phone and extreme tailgating. Saw 4 cars in a row today that were maybe 5 feet from each other going 68 thru corridor. If they wanna kill themselves that’s fine but really sucks for the other people affected in those accidents.
