South Fork Soccer Player Signed to Play for Boise College
Press release from South Fork High School:
South Fork High School Senior Ashleigh Harrison of Piercy has signed to play Division 1 women’s soccer at Boise State University in Idaho beginning next fall. Harrison, daughter of Jack and Sandy Harrison, fulfills a life-long dream of playing college soccer by signing to be a Bronco.
She has played club soccer for various teams since she was 10, moving from AC Samoa in the Humboldt Bay area to a Marin FC team and finally to the nationally acclaimed ECNL Santa Rosa United. She went to a showcase in San Diego and Boise state was there in attendance. She was then invited to Boise’s own ID camp in mid-April and the assistant coach liked what he saw and offered her a partial scholarship to play for him.
Women’s soccer scholarships are few and far between, so this is quite a coup for the young player. Ashleigh is primarily an attacking player, and will be used as a forward and an outside mid midfielder while at Boise. The team has a number of freshman joining the squad this fall so the group will mature together.
Ashleigh is undecided on what she will study while at Boise State with Occupational Therapy among her interests.
Ashleigh is very grateful for the effort her parents have made, driving her many thousands of miles to her practices, games and college showcases.
